Selling your home any time of year can be challenging, even if it's just the daily activity of keeping your home clean and ready for showings at all times. Selling your home during the Winter sometimes brings the additional challenge of snow and/or ice on your driveway, sidewalk and porch.
Many homeowners seem to believe they've addressed the snow and ice issue by placing signs inside the front door for buyers to either "Remove Shoes" or "Put on Booties." This is a great measure for the sellers to protect the home from wet shoes but what are the buyers getting out of these signs?
The one thing a lot of sellers are either FORGETTING (or refusing) to do when it snows, is to simply clear the snow from the driveway, sidewalk and porch. Shoveling the driveway is one thing but make sure the sidewalks and porch are clear as well. Clearing off the snow allows buyers safe and easy access into your home.
Buyers who are out in the "BAD WEATHER" are exactly the type of people sellers should want looking at their home. These buyers are willing to brave the elements because they are MOTIVATED and SERIOUS about finding a home. Sellers need to be making every effort to show these buyers their APPRECIATION because these MOTIVATED buyers are making every effort to see your home.
Remember, there are a lot of competing homes on the market, so make sure your home is not remembered as "The Home that Wasn't Shoveled!"
Have a great day,
